    In a statement by the General Staff, it was reported that a group of terrorists carried out an armed and bomb attack against the gendarmerie station building in the Eruh district of Siirt in the night of August 15, 1984 and that the attack left 1 gendarmerie private dead and 6 gendarmerie privates and 3 civilians wounded. It was also stated that an armed attack by another group targeting a gendarmerie officers’ open-air mess, officer lodging facilities, and district Gendarmerie Station in the Şemdinli district of the Hakkari province wounded 1 officer, 1 non-commissioned officer, and 1 private. This was the PKK’s first big-scale armed attack.

    In a bomb attack by the PKK targeting a wedding house in the Ortabağ village of the Uludere district in Hakkari, 8 villagers, including 2 children and 4 women, were brutally murdered.

Münip Şerafeddinoğlu, Municipality Editor-in-chief Adil Kaplan, ANAP’s Şirvan District Head Hüseyin Feyimoğlu and his private driver Kemal Uğur. While Hüseyin Feyimoğlu managed to escape seriously wounded, the mayor and the editor-in-chief were kidnapped and killed by the PKK members.

    Başbağlar Massacre – Storming the village of Başbağlar in the Kemaliye district of Erzincan in an armed attack, PKK terrorists killed 28 people, including women, and wounded 3 people. Setting fire to 57 houses in the village, they escaped.

    Attacking the Daltepe village of the Şirvan district in Siirt, PKK terrorists murdered 23 people, including women and children.

    Located in the rural areas of the village of Tavuk (now called Kardelen) in the Hozat district of Tunceli, the TDKP (Revolutionary Communist Party of Turkey) camp was stormed by the terrorist organization PKK. As a result of the PKK terrorists opening fire on the camp, 4 TDKP members died while 2 were severely injured. In the meantime, the PKK terrorists kidnapped 2 people.

    A convoy of 50 vehicles travelling from Tunceli to the Ovacık district was attacked with rocket launchers by PKK terrorists. 18 soldiers were martyred and 10 were wounded.

    Raiding a mine near the village of Seldiren in the Samandağ district of Hatay, PKK terrorists executed 9 mineworkers by gunfire. While 8 of the mineworkers died, one survived with injuries.
  27. July 24, 1995
    Crossing from Iran into Turkey, a PKK terrorist group of 150 could not enter Atabinen in the Akdoğu village of the Gürpınar district in Van and launched rockets on houses. The terrorists killed 12 people, 7 of which were women and children, and seriously injured 13.
  28. April 23, 1996
    PKK terrorists executed 3 teachers, who worked at a primary school in the Ekinözü district of Kahramanmaraş, by gunfire.

    In the event known as the first suicide attack of the PKK, Zeynep Kınacı, code named Zilan, walked into a group of soldiers during the flag raising ceremony and blasted herself. The blast left eight soldiers dead.

    9 PKK militants, 2 of which were women, raided the Akçaşehir Village Demiriz Train Station in Sivas-Kangal. 8 people, including 6 workers of the Turkish State Railways, were killed in the armed attack.

    Near the Eğricimen Highland of the Koyulhisar district in Sivas, PKK terrorists blocked the road and opened fire on 4 vehicles. 3 people in the vehicles died and 7 got injured.
  32. August 22, 1996
    Near Örencik in Şemdinli, village guards going to their work were attacked by a group of PKK terrorists with rocket launchers. The attack left 5 people, including 3 village guards, dead and 11 injured.

    As a result of the PKK militants’ armed attack on the Corporate Directorate of Etibank Şark Krom Enterprise near the Alacakay district of Elazığ, 5 people including 4 members of private security staff died. Furthermore, on the same day, the PKK blocked the road in Tatvan and killed two people.
  34. October 25, 1996
    A female PKK member carried out a suicide bomb attack in front of the Riot Police Branch of the Adana Police Department. 4 people, 3 of which were police officers, died in the attack while 12 people, 8 of which were police officers, were wounded.
  35. October 29, 1996
    During the transfer of an organization member named Güler Otaş in a police vehicle in Sivas, a suicide attack happened as she detonated the bomb on her body. The blast killed 6 people, including the attacker, another organization member and 3 police officers in the vehicle, and a civilian outside the vehicle. Within the same day, 27 members of the terrorist organization were captured dead in the counter-terrorism operations undertaken in Bitlis, Şırnak and Diyarbakır. 14 privates lost their lives and 10 got injured in the clash in the Kulp district of Diyarbakır.

    PKK militants launched a rocket attack on a minibus in the village of Köprülü in the Çukurca district of Hakkari. The attack claimed the lives of 17 people, 12 of which were village guards, and left 8 people wounded. In addition, on the same day, 22 PKK members were captured dead in the operations undertaken in various southeastern provinces.

    While going from the village of Yoncalı in the Dargeçit district of Mardin to the district center, a minibus hit the mines laid on the road by the terrorist organization PKK in Konaklı in the Temelli Village. In the attack, 12 people died and 12 got injured.

    As a result of the explosion of the bomb planted at the Ünlüoğlu buffet in the Spice Bazaar in Eminönü, 7 people, including 3 children, died and 111 people, 10 of which were foreigners, got injured.

    As the military shuttle vehicle carrying high school students who were the children of military personnel was beginning to move in Van, a suicide blast occurred as the PKK member Hamdiye Kapan approached the vehicle and detonated the explosives on her body. Besides the attackers, a student died in the blast while 21 people including soldiers, teachers, students and other civilians survived the attack with injuries.

    A molotov cocktail was thrown at the shopping center known as Mavi Çarşı (Blue Bazaar), located on the Fahrettin Kerim Gökay Street in Kadıköy. 13 people died due to the fire that broke out and smoke poisoning. 6 people were wounded.

    In the operation undertaken by security forces, a total of 37 PKK terrorists, 35 in the rural areas in the villages of Ballıkaya and Güneyçam at Mount Cudi in Şırnak and 2 in the rural areas of the Lice district in Diyarbakır, were killed. 5 members of the security staff died in the clashes. The names of the security staff who died were as follows: Infantry Third Lieutenant Murat Akkuş (Mersin), Gendarme Master Sergeant Yusuf Demir (Silifke-Mersin), Infantry Sergeant Necdet Pehlivan (Edirne), Infantry Mahmut Polat (Kırşehir), and Infantry İsa Karakaya (Afyonkarahisar).

    PKK militants carried out an armed attack on the Poyraz coffeehouse in Elazığ. 4 people were killed and 5 were injured in the attack. While 2 attackers were captured dead, a police officer who was wounded in the attack died six days later.[4]

    A bomb exploded near the Koşuyolu Park where families go for recreation in Diyarbakır. In the attack that left 17 people injured, 11 people, including a baby, lost their lives.

    PKK members opened fire on a minibus in the Beşağaç village of the Beytüşşebap district in Şırnak. 12 people, 7 of which were village guards, died and 2 people got injured in the attack.

    At Mount Gabar in Şırnak, PKK militants ambushed soldiers returning from an operation. 13 soldiers were martyred in the attack and 3 got injured.
  46. October 21, 2007
    The infantry battalion deployed in the Dağlıca village of the Yüksekova district in Hakkari 4 months ago was attacked by 250 PKK terrorists. Blowing up the highway access road before the attack, the PKK terrorists attacked the soldiers with bombs and rocket launchers when the location of the soldiers became evident as they fired back. 12 soldiers facing the first gunfire were martyred while 16 got wounded. 32 PKK terrorists were captured dead in the attack.

    In the explosion of two bombs with a 10 minute interval in Güngören-Istanbul, 18 people, including five children and an unborn baby, died while 150 people got injured. Later, it was revealed that the attack was carried out by the PKK.

    An IED (Improvised Explosive Device) attack targeted a military convoy at the 12th km of the Hakkari-Çukurca highway. 11 soldiers and 1 village guard died in a BTR-80 armored personnel carrier, destroyed in four successive mine explosions. 14 soldiers were wounded.

Bomb Attacks by the PKK after June 7, 2015

  1. August 2, 2015
    With the detonation of a tractor laden with a two-ton bomb, a terrorist attack targeted the Karabulak Gendarmerie Station in the Doğubayazıt district of Ağrı. The attack left 3 military personnel dead and 31 wounded, including civilians. (PKK)
  2. February 17, 2016
    The February 2016 Ankara bombing is the explosion that occurred as a military shuttle vehicle was passing through an area close to the Presidency of General Staff, military lodging facilities, and the Turkish Land Forces in the Çankaya district of Ankara on February 17, 2016. The blast took place 5 minutes away from the TGNA.
  3. As a result of the detonation of a bomb-laden vehicle by a suicide bomber as 5 military vehicles were passing by, 28 people including civilians died the same day and 1 died in hospital while 61 people were wounded. (TAK)

    It is the car bomb explosion that happened near the bus stops in Güvenpark in the Kızılay district of Ankara at 18:45 by local time on March 13, 2016 and killed 38 people including 2 attackers and wounded 125 people, 19 of which were in a critical condition.
  5. It was reported that the real target of the bomb attack, which was carried out in the entrance to the Güvenpark metro station in Kızılay square at 18:45 with a white BMW car that came from Viranşehir, was the riot police in Kızılay square but as the vehicle was noticed and there was gunfire, the car hit a municipality bus on the road and that was when it exploded.     It is the suicide bomb attack that killed 1 person and wounded 13 near Ulu Cami in the Osmangazi district of Bursa at 17:26 on April 28, 2016.[3] Following the blast that occurred while a funeral prayer was being performed in the courtyard of Ulu Cami, the vehicular traffic to the scene was closed.
  7. The bombing happened in the entrance of Grand Bazaar, in front of the western gate of Ulu Cami at 17:26 by local time. A female terrorist, about 25 years old, detonated the bomb and the blast left 1 person (the suicide bomber) dead and wounded 13 people. It was reported that none of the injured were in a critical condition. Many ambulances, fire brigades and police teams were transferred to the scene following the blast. The wounded were transferred to hospitals in the region. The street was closed for pedestrians and vehicular traffic. (TAK)

    The Vezneciler attack is a suicide bomb attack carried out with a bomb-laden car in Vezneciler in the Fatih district of Istanbul at 08:40 by local time on June 7, 2016.[1] The blast killed 13 people, including 5 police officers, 7 civilians, and the attacker, and wounded 36 people. (TAK)

    The Cizre attack is the suicide bomb attack carried out by the PKK member Mustafa Aslan with a bomb-laden vehicle at 06:45 by local time, targeting the police checkpoint at the District Police Station – Riot Police Group Department in the Cizre district of the province of Şırnak in Turkey. In the attack that claimed the lives of 13 people, the attacker and 12 police officers, 78 people including three civilians were wounded. (PKK)

    The attack in Şemdinli is a suicide bomb attack, carried out at 09:45 by local time, targeting a military road checkpoint near the Durak Border Company in the Şemdinli district of the province of Hakkari in Turkey.
